And this month, there’s a special treat in store for those who typically work from Monday to Friday, as they’re about to enjoy a three-day weekend.
The reason behind this upcoming extended weekend is the celebration of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. It is anticipated to fall on Wednesday, 27th September. The official public holiday to commemorate this occasion is set for Friday, 29th September.
This was confirmed by the UAE Government on their official social media channels, including Twitter, last year.
But wait, there’s more! The festivities continue beyond September. The year 2023 still has a few more public holidays in store for UAE residents. On Friday, 01st December, the nation will observe Commemoration Day. Then, from Saturday, 02nd December, to Sunday, 03rd December, the UAE will come alive with National Day celebrations.
While this means that workers can enjoy a well-deserved day off on 01st December, it’s worth noting that the National Day public holidays will span a weekend, from 02nd to 03rd December.
As a result, most workers will already have time off during this period.
So, mark your calendar and plan your activities accordingly, because this September’s long weekend is just the beginning of a season filled with opportunities to relax and celebrate in the UAE.
