Holiday for public sector on occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

21st October will be a holiday

UAE authorities have confirmed that 21st October will be a holiday in honour of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

Long weekend ahead for public sector employees as Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday falls on a Thursday. On the 12th of Rabi Al-Awwal is Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Its the third month of the Islamic calendar in most of the Islamic countries.

Most of the Islamic countries including the Gulf countries have declared 12th of Rabi Al-Awwal as a holiday. This is to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH).

There’s good news in stores for the private sector too. The UAE’s private sector will also get a long weekend on 21st October as the country has merged holidays for private and public sectors.

The last break this year will be for four days running from 01st December (Wednesday) until 04th December (Saturday). This is on the occasion of Commemoration Day and UAE National Day.

The UAE’s public and private sectors in total will enjoy five long breaks in 2021.
