The Dubai Racing Club has officially announced that the 29th Dubai World Cup will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the prestigious Meydan Racecourse. This announcement comes as part of a broader reveal of the upcoming racing season’s schedule, which promises to be more expansive and exciting than ever before.

The 2024-2025 racing season in Dubai is set to commence on Friday, November 8, 2024, kicking off an extended 16-meeting Carnival. This year’s schedule has been strategically planned to coincide with Eid Al Fitr celebrations in the UAE, pushing the season a week later than usual.

Sheikh Rashed bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Racing Club, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming events, stating, “The Dubai World Cup is one of the best-established sporting and social events of the year in Dubai. We look forward to welcoming the best horses, jockeys, trainers and owners from around the world to Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, April 5, 2025.”

The season will feature several key dates that racing enthusiasts should mark on their calendars. The ‘Festive Friday’ on December 20 will showcase the AED1 million G2 Maktoum Mile, while the ‘Fashion Friday’ on January 24, 2025, will be headlined by the AED3.68 million G1 Al Maktoum Challenge. The Emirates Super Saturday is scheduled for March 1, 2025, setting the stage for the grand finale at the Dubai World Cup.

In a move to provide more opportunities for both local and international participants, the Dubai Racing Club has added two additional racing days to the season. This expansion reflects the growing popularity and global significance of Dubai’s racing events.

Sheikh Rashed also paid tribute to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crediting him with elevating the Dubai World Cup’s status and establishing Dubai as a prominent fixture on the global horseracing map. “His Highness’s efforts have fostered international cooperation, bringing together the best in the industry and promoting the sport’s growth and development,” he added.

In line with its commitment to modernization, the Dubai Racing Carnival will unveil a rebranded logo, signaling a fresh chapter in its storied history.

As the racing world turns its attention to Dubai for another spectacular season, the 2025 Dubai World Cup promises to be a culmination of world-class horseracing, international collaboration, and the continued growth of Dubai as a global sporting destination.
