Residents and visitors in Dubai can enjoy free parking and extended operational hours for public transportation during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday, courtesy of the city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
In a move to facilitate seamless movement and enhance the festivities, the RTA has announced that all public parking areas, excluding multi-storey terminals, will be free of charge from Saturday, June 15, until the end of Tuesday, June 18.
This initiative aims to provide convenience and alleviate parking concerns for those celebrating the religious occasion.
Furthermore, the RTA has released the revised schedules for its various services during the Eid Al Adha holiday, spanning from June 15 to June 18.
These services encompass Customer Happiness Centres, paid parking zones, public buses, the Dubai Metro and Tram, marine transport, and vehicle testing centres.
Dubai Metro
The Dubai Metro’s Red and Green lines will operate from 5 am to 1 am the following day on June 14 and 15, while on Sunday, June 16, the service will run from 8 am to 1 am.
From Monday to Friday, June 17 to 21, the Metro timings will revert to the regular 5 am to 1 am schedule.
Dubai tram and buses
The Dubai Tram will operate from 6 am to 1 am the next day, Monday to Saturday, and from 9 am to 1 am on Sundays.
For those relying on buses, the RTA recommends downloading the S’hail app from app stores to stay updated on any changes in timetables.
It is noteworthy that Bus Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Route E102 from Al Jafiliya Bus Station will not operate during the Eid period, with alternative routes provided.
Dubai water transport
Dubai’s water transport services, including Water Taxis, Abras, and Ferries, will also operate on modified schedules to cater to the increased demand during the holidays. Specific timings and routes are available on the RTA’s website and app.
Service Provider Centres for vehicle testing will remain closed during the Eid Al Adha holidays, with technical testing services resuming on Tuesday, June 18, and public halls reopening on Wednesday, June 19.
