Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the successful resumption of full Dubai Metro operations, following temporary disruptions caused by recent stormy weather conditions in the emirate.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the RTA expressed its gratitude for the public’s understanding and cooperation during the temporary suspension. The authority affirmed its commitment to providing comfortable and safe journeys for commuters.
“In line with our continuous efforts to ensure seamless journeys, #RTA has successfully resumed #DubaiMetro’s full operations. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and we remain committed to providing you with comfortable and safe journeys to your destinations. #YourComfortMatters,” the RTA stated.
The Metro’s operations were initially impacted by the severe weather conditions, prompting the temporary closure of several stations, including Onpassive, Equiti, and Mashreq. However, these stations reopened on Sunday, May 19, after undergoing necessary maintenance and testing to ensure their full operational readiness and compliance with all safety requirements.
The RTA conducted comprehensive operational tests to evaluate the efficiency of the metro stations and their facilities, such as platform doors, lifts, escalators, and other service facilities. Additionally, vital indicators of train power were tested to ensure smooth movement between stations, and service frequency trials were conducted without passengers to verify the accuracy of metro journey times.
With the successful resumption of full Metro operations, commuters can once again rely on the efficient and convenient public transportation system, which plays a crucial role in facilitating seamless mobility within Dubai.
