Dubai International Airport (DXB) has achieved a remarkable milestone by welcoming 44.9 million guests in the first half of 2024, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. This achievement solidifies DXB’s reputation as a premier global gateway and underscores its significant role in boosting Dubai’s economy. Dubai attracted 9.31 million international visitors in H1 2024, reflecting its growing appeal as a global business hub. In tandem, Dubai’s GDP surged to AED 115 billion in Q1 2024, a 3.2% increase year-on-year.

Key international markets such as South Asia, Western Europe, the GCC, and East Asia have driven DXB’s success. India leads as the top destination, with 6.1 million passengers, followed by Saudi Arabia with 3.7 million, and the UK with 2.9 million guests. Notably, traffic from China exceeded 1 million passengers, reflecting an 80% year-on-year growth.

In the first half of 2024, DXB handled 216,000 flight movements, with January being the busiest month with 7.9 million guests. Baggage handling reached a record high, with 39.7 million bags managed, marking a 6.7% increase year-on-year. Impressively, 92% of arriving baggage was delivered within 45 minutes.
