This university is making quality UK education more accessible in the UAE
With a high-profile ceremony, Middlesex University Dubai was delighted to officially inaugurate its campus extension at Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). Middlesex University Dubai has already enjoyed a highly successful year as it celebrates 17 years of providing high quality UK higher education in the UAE.
In addition to Middlesex University Dubai’s flagship campus in Dubai Knowledge Park (DKP), the institution’s DIAC campus is further evidence of its commitment to improving the quality of higher education in the UAE. Leading officials from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, DIAC, Amanat Holdings, Middlesex University Dubai’s joint venture partner, and Middlesex University London attended the unveiling to mark the significant milestone.
As one of the first international universities to offer a multi-campus experience in Dubai, Middlesex University Dubai first opened its DIAC campus extension in September 2021. With the new facilities combined with the flagship campus at Dubai Knowledge Park, the region’s largest hub for HR and training, Middlesex University Dubai has a thriving global community of over 4,000 students from 118 countries.
Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director of Middlesex University Dubai, and Professor Nic Beech, Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University, led a tour of the DIAC campus extension. The distinguished guests also met with faculty and students to learn more about Middlesex University Dubai’s innovative student experience, and how it is furthering the UAE’s development as a global education hub.
As a campus that encourages its students to develop an entrepreneurial approach to their learning, DIAC recognizes that resilience and being able to adapt to change are essential skills. Students are encouraged to create their own ideas in creative spaces such as the Innovation Hub and Student Thinktank. In the inspiring independent work areas, students can work on assignments, dissertations, or even a start-up concept.
In addition to the same services that are offered at DKP, DIAC students have access to Careers and Employability support, academic enrichment through the Centre for Academic Success, as well as a range of clubs and sports. Students from northern emirates and the outer reaches of Dubai will find the new campus convenient owing to its proximity to high-speed highways that connect all seven emirates.
Applications for studying at Middlesex University Dubai from September 2022 are open now. Anyone interested is invited to apply for the University’s 70+ foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at www.mdx.ac.ae/september2022.
