As the summer travel season kicks into high gear, Emirates has rolled out a series of initiatives designed to enhance passenger comfort and streamline airport processes at Dubai International Airport.
With a significant surge in travelers expected from July 6, the airline is encouraging passengers to plan ahead and take advantage of various services to avoid potential delays.
Key timings and check-in options
Emirates advises passengers to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure, clear immigration 1.5 hours prior, and reach the boarding gate 1 hour before takeoff.
To streamline the process, several check-in options are available.
- Home check-in
Available in Dubai and Sharjah, this service is complimentary for First Class passengers and Platinum Skywards members. Booking required 24 hours in advance. - Digital check-in
Use the Emirates app or website to check in, select seats, book chauffeur services, and more, starting 48 hours before flight time. - Early luggage drop-off
Passengers can drop off luggage 24 hours before departure (12 hours for US flights) at no extra charge. - Remote check-in
Available at DIFC’s Emirates City Check-in and Travel Store (8am to 10pm daily) and Ajman Central Bus Terminal (24/7), from 24 hours to 4 hours before flight time.
Duty-Free shopping
Customers can pre-order duty-free items at www.EmiratesRED.com from 21 days to 40 hours before their flight, with purchases delivered to their seat.
Airport amenities
Emirates is offering free ice cream in Terminal 3 every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (12pm-6pm) until July 28. Flavors include vanilla, chocolate, dulce de leche, mango sorbet, and lemon sorbet.
Family-friendly services
The airline provides complimentary in-airport strollers, Dubai airport buggies, and kids’ play areas to assist families traveling with children.
By leveraging these services and planning accordingly, Emirates aims to ensure a stress-free start to summer vacations for its passengers, particularly families traveling with children.
