In an effort to support the teaching and learning process for students, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has announced new guidelines for private school inspections during the 2024-25 academic year.

According to a statement from the Dubai Media Office (DMO), comprehensive inspections will not be conducted for most private schools in Dubai. Instead, the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) team will conduct “quality assurance visits that target specific focus areas to monitor schools’ progress on improvement plans.”

This decision aims to provide schools with the opportunity to implement changes and support their development and improvement plans without the added pressure of full inspections.

However, new private schools in their third year of operation will still undergo complete inspections as per the guidelines.

Schools that wish to undergo a full inspection during the 2024-25 academic year can submit a request to the inspection team, subject to KHDA approval.

Full inspection reports and individual parent summary reports for the 2023-24 academic year are now available on the KHDA website and mobile app, providing transparency and information for parents and stakeholders.
